Invitation!

Mock Trial
Competitions will be
February 24 & March 14, 2012 at 9 am
at the Orem Justice Center, 97 East Center Street, Orem Utah.
Park in the rear or on the side.
The students will leave on the bus for Orem at about 7:45 am,
and will be back at the school around 1:00 pm.
(We are allowing time after the trial for lunch and to celebrate.)
Parents and other guests, please be in your seats in the courtroom before 9 am. Please turn off your cell phones.  Do not bring little children since we will be working in a courthouse and need to be careful about not disturbing the mock trial or any other court proceedings that day.
You may take pictures before and after the trial -- before the judges come in and when they leave. To video-tape the trial  we will need the other team's permission. If you would be willing to videotape please contact Mrs. Dorsey.
During the trial, including breaks, team members may  communicate ONLY with other team members who have roles in the trial.
They may NOT  communicate with
parents, teachers, other adults, or other students.
Students participating in the trial will ride the bus to the courthouse.
If you would like to take your student after the trial,
please  let Mrs. Dorsey know ahead.
Thank you for supporting your student in this activity!
Please encourage and help her or him to be prepared for our trial
and to  dress professionally.
Girls should  wear skirts, dresses,  or dress pants, no flowery things, wear hair away from your face, and wear comfortable shoes.
Boys please wear “church clothes,”  no white socks!
Tie  with jacket is preferred.
NO gum chewing  for any team members.
Students are to give any cell  phones to Mrs. Dorsey before  the trial.

Errors on Exhibits

I just received this email:
-------- Original Message --------
Subject: Mock Trial
From: <lrekathy@icw.com>
Date: Thu, February 16, 2012 2:37 pm
To: "ULRE" <lre@icw.com>

Hello Everyone,
There are several errors which were overlooked in the mock trial exhibits.  In Exhibit A, Taylor Malcolm may be either male or female, and Taylor's age should be 20 years old as is in his/her affidavit.  On Malcolm Goodall's vitae, he/she is presently at Eastern State University, not National University.

Please make sure your attorney coaches are made aware of these changes.

Thank you.

Kathy Dryer
